The Firm's requirements and responsibilities of each of these positions are as follows:

Partners

Partners have demonstrated a deep commitment to the Firm, its philosophy and goals. Each partner has responsibility for administration of specific clients and firm-wide responsibility for various technical and administrative functions. They have demonstrated the ability to express themselves convincingly in both oral and written communication and are respected by clients for good judgment and good business sense. Each partner has demonstrated a definite ability to attract profitable new business to the Firm.


Managers

Managers have demonstrated knowledge of practical and theoretical accounting. They have designed and implemented accounting systems. They have gained the respect of clients and are frequently called upon by clients to resolve problems. Managers have demonstrated the ability to develop and expand services for current clients. They have developed contacts in the business community which could ultimately develop into new clients.

They have demonstrated the ability to evaluate and develop professional staff and the ability to handle administrative duties. Managers exercise a significant degree of judgment, discretion and creativity in meeting the requirements of their position.

The minimum requirements a manager should possess are as follows:

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in accounting
  • CPA License
  • 6+ years of assurance/tax services experience
  • Excellent technical accounting and software skills
  • Experience in managing, coaching and training staff
  • Strong leadership skills with a positive team player attitude

Seniors

Senior accountants have the ability to handle many areas of an assigned engagement. They have developed skills in supervising subordinates working on the same engagement and are becoming familiar with how to train staff members. They are capable of producing completed work products ready for review by a supervisor or manager.

The minimum requirements a senior staff should possess are as follows:

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in accounting
  • CPA certification or CPA eligibility are required.
  • 2 + years of experience in Audit/Tax with a Public Accounting Firm
  • Ability to work within time budget constraints, including resolution of budget problems before a job gets out of control.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Firm's timeliness goals.
  • Is an effective communicator, written and oral, upstream and downstream.

Staff Accountants

Entry level staff accountants have a college degree in accounting. The exception would be an accounting student who is close to obtaining his/her accounting degree. Staff accountants have a core knowledge of accounting or tax, are willing to learn, and are enthusiastic about the challenges of an engagement. Above all, the entry level staff person has demonstrated the ability to listen and follow directions.

Staff accountants have the responsibility of making sure they understand what they are being asked to do on each assignment, when it is to be completed and what their time allotment is.

The minimum requirements a staff should possess are as follows:

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in accounting
  • Pursuing CPA
  • Proficient in all MS Office Suite applications
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

Staff Paraprofessionals

Staff paraprofessionals must have a core knowledge of accounting or tax, the willingness to learn and enthusiasm about the challenges of an engagement. They must demonstrate the ability to listen and follow directions. Staff paraprofessionals have the responsibility of making sure they understand what they are being asked to do in each assignment, when it is to be completed, and what their time allotment is.
